Ingredients
- DOUGH:
- 4 cups flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- FILLING:
- 1 pkg. figs, cut into quarters
- 1/4 cup raisins, golden
- 1/4 cup citron
- 1/2 cup almonds, ground
- 1/3 cup apricot jam
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 cup rum liquor
- ADDED AFTER OTHER INGREDIENTS PROCESSED:
- 2 oz. chocolate chips
Method
Mix together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and butter, processing it into small granules. Then add the 4 beaten eggs, mix the dough and chill.

Divide dough into 12 pieces. Use flour to roll out. Brush dough with egg wash.
Process filling ingredients (see ingredients list) in a mixer.
Place filling on dough. Place chocolate chips on top of filling (see photo). Roll up to cover.
Cut into 5 equal parts. Snip and shape to form “X” shapes.
Place on cookie sheets. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes
Frost.
