Big Mac™ Treats

INGREDIENTS

  • Nilla Vanilla Wafer Cookies
  • Keebler Grasshopper Cookies (chocolate mint cookies)
  • Shredded coconut (dyed green to simulate shredded lettuce)
  • White frosting (dye a portion of this yellow-orange to simulate melted American
  • cheese)
  • Sesame seeds
  • Egg white (1)

METHOD

When our children were little we set up an assembly line to create these treats and got everyone involved – reminding them to use clean hands, of course.

One vanilla wafer is spread with a thin layer of white frosting to mimic the special sauce™, then sprinkle a small amount of coconut around the perimeter of the cookie. Then place the chocolate mint cookie on that. Next, place a small amount of the yellow-orange frosting (approx. 2 tsp. or a little less) on the chocolate cookie in a dollop fashion.

Take a second vanilla cookie and gently press onto the chocolate cookie to make the yellow frosting appear as if it were melted cheese.

After all the Big Macs™ are assembled, brush the tops with a thin layer of egg white and quickly sprinkle a few sesame seeds on them. They dry quickly.

They can be eaten immediately, however I find that if they are left to set over night they will be less crumbly.
