We are Bob and Annie Kachurek and we make our home in northern Ohio USA, where we were born and raised. Annie’s heritage is Italian (mainland and Sicilian) and Bob’s is Slovak. We both grew up with parents who lavished us with comfort food from their food traditions – and we hope you enjoy the recipes we have shared with you.

We love cooking (and eating), and as yet another culinary and health adventure, we have been cooking vegan foods almost exclusively for more than six months now. The exception is when important holidays arrive, bringing with them visits by large numbers of family and extended family members – at those times we still roll out the traditional meals and recipes from favorite cookbooks or online. So far, we have been reproducing vegan recipes that have been found online or in vegan cookbooks, so we are not quite ready to add vegan recipes to theartichokepatch.com, but as we develop our own modifications and original creations, we will be sure to share them with you.
